Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village

Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village

Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village was a mound village near Murfreesboro, Arkansas.Long before Europeans came to America, their civilization was flourishing. Unlike some other Native American groups, who may have migrated seasonally or followed the buffalo, the Caddo lived in permanent villages. They lived in wood framed huts that were covered with cane or grass complete with furniture. [cite web |url=http://www.texasindians.com/caddo.htm |title= Caddo Cultures] They existed on crops they raised (such as corn, beans and pumpkins), and what the men would acquire through hunting. There you can see beautifully molded and decorative pottery, pipes, and expertly chipped flint, all fashioned by hand by the Caddoan people. On site, are reconstructed mud and straw houses. At the Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village, you will have an opportunity to understand the customs of the Caddo, their ceremonies, and their way of life.
