Indian Village Is the nickname given to the southeast portion of the Kenwood community area of city-state|Chicago|Illinois,
United States . It is roughly bounded byLake Shore Drive to the east Burnham Park to the north, 51st street (EastHyde Park Boulevard ) to the south,Harold Washington Park to the southeast, and theIllinois Central Railroad tracks used by theMetra 's South Shore andMetra Electric Line s to the West. Many of the buildings in the neighborhood are named after Native American Indian tribes including theNational Register of Historic Places -designated (NRHP)Narragansett and theChicago Landmark Powhatan Apartments .
