- Kendal Parish Church
The site of Kendal Parish Church (Holy Trinity) has probably been used for religious purposes since around since the year 850 AD, the remains of an Anglican cross from the period can be seen in the Parr Chapel, parts of the present day church were built in the 13th Century [http://www.kendalparishchurch.co.uk/kpc/history.html] .
Saxon Church

Norman Period
Westmorland was only subdued by the Normans in 1092 and
