March 30 ,1908 –February 21 2008 ) was a Frenchprelate of theRoman Catholic Church Carrière was born in Chalons, France and was ordained a priest on July 8, 1931. He was appointed Coadjutor bishop of the Diocese of Laval and Titular bishop of Ladicum on November 5, 1968, and was ordained bishop on January 11, 1969. He succeeded as bishop of the Diocese of Laval when bishop Charles-Marie-Jacques Guilhem resigned on December 31, 1969, where he remained until retiring on March 10, 1984.
Carrière died on February 21, 2008, a month shy of his 100th birthday.
