Apostol Popov ( _bg. Апостол Попов) (born December 22 1982) is a football defender from Bulgaria currently playing for PFC Botev Plovdiv. Popov is a central or left defender. His height is 1,84m and his weight is 80kg.

Career

Apostol Popov started his footballing career with the club PFC Haskovo before moving to Botev Plovdiv in the year 2008. Popov was signed to replace Nikolay Domakinov at Botev and adds an extra dimension with his heading ability from set-pieces. He was raised in Haskovo's youth teams and in 2000 signed first professional contract with PFC Haskovo, where he spent seven years. With Haskovo Popov played in bulgarian second and third division.

He made his official debut in bulgarian first division with Botev Plovdiv in a match against Spartak Varna on 1 March 2008. He played for 90 minutes. The result of the match was a 2:0 win for Botev.
