- Kim S. Cameron
Kim Sterling Cameron (born 1946) is the William Russel Kelly Professor of Management and Organizations at the
Ross School of Business at theUniversity of Michigan and previously has served on the faculty of multiple other institutions.Biography
Cameron is a Latter-day Saint. He attended Brigham Young High School in
Provo, Utah from which he graduated in 1964. He then received a bachelors fromBrigham Young University in 1970. At BYU Cameron dated Ann Davies. Melinda's coming to BYU was the result of an invitation to visit the campus fromM. Russell Ballard who was on the board of directors of a theatre her father was performing at. They were both involved in BYU stage productions, and also had roles in the film "Pioneers in Petticoats ". Melinda's joining the church was partly the result of her being in this film.Cameron also served as student body vice president and was a basketball player at BYU.
Kim Cameron and Melinda Cummings were married. After earning a masters at BYU he became a faculty member at
Ricks College . He then went on to earn a Ph.D. in administrative sciences fromYale University .The Camerons are the parents of seven children.
For a time Cameron served as president of the Ann Arbor Michigan Stake. ["LDS Church News", June 17th, 1995]
Cameron has served as associate dean of the
Marriott School of Management atBYU and as dean of theWeatherhead School of Management atCase Western Reserve University . He also served for a time as a member of the faculty of theUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison . He has written at least seven books. Much of his writing has been in cooperation with Robert E. Quinn.Among other ideas, Cameron advances the notion that downsizing is not an effective business strategy.
