Scolmatore dell'Arno

The Scolmatore dell'Arno or "channel Scolmatore" , is a channel of the river Arno that downstream part of Pontedera and ends near the Calambrone, on the border between the municipalities of Livorno and Pisa.

After the flood of 1949, in 1954 it was decided the construction of "Scolmatore dell'Arno" at a cost of more than 10 billion lire time. The work was not yet complete for the flood of 1966.
Fosso RealeCurrently the Scolmatore dell'Arno has a range of 1,400 cubic meters per second and can steal more than 60% of water flowing through-fold the center of Pisa.

In some channel confluence of rivers and inland in Pisa Livorno, as the torrent Tora (near Mortaiolo), and the last stretch, just before lead in the Ligurian Sea, the Channel of Navicelli.
