John Fahy (born November 23 1971) is a New York City based script doctor and film editor.

A longtime Miramax Films creative executive, Fahy has worked with many of the entertainment industry’s most prolific talents; from filmmakers Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Peter Jackson, Michael Moore, and Kevin Smith, to actors Sean Connery, John Travolta, Robin Williams, Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie, Gwenyth Paltrow, Vince Vaughn, Johnny Depp, Charlize Theron, Billy Bob Thornton, Wesley Snipes, Kevin Spacey, Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek, Jon Stewart, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Heather Graham, Chris Rock, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck, as well as scores of equally-talented lesser-known artists.

Biography

Fahy began his career in 1993 as a copywriter for Grey Advertising.

In 1994 he was recruited by then-fledgling Miramax Films to serve as their National Advertising Coordinator. Over the next two years, the burgeoning indie studio took off, releasing a string of box-office hits backed by groundbreaking advertising campaigns, and Fahy was promoted to Vice President of Creative Services.

Fahy went on to direct national advertising efforts for numerous blockbuster movies, [http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E07EFD6123DF933A1575BC0A96E958260&sec=&spon= The New York Times] ] and became a key player in Miramax’s notorious Academy Award campaigns, helping the studio win three Best Picture Oscars in six years.

Fahy left Miramax in 2002 to become a full time script doctor. Today he is one of New York City’s most sought-after film and video editors.

In 2006, Fahy broadened his storytelling palette into motion graphics and visual effects. He went on to conceptualize and produce a slew of innovative visual-effects sequences for independent films and commercial projects.
