Luna was a Serbian Post Punk / Gothic rock band from Novi Sad, Serbia.

History

During the late 1981 former Pekinška Patka members Zoran Bulatović Bale (guitar) and Marko Vukomanović Mare (bass) with former La Strada members Slobodan Tišma (vocals) and Ivan Fece Firchie (drums) joined together and formed Luna. Since the band members were already well-known, the formation of the band caused great interest in the public. The band started writing new material, Bale was responsible for the music writing, while Tišma, was the band's lyricist. A few days before the band's first public appearance, Vukomanović left the band and was replaced by Jasmina Mitrušić Mina (keyboards, vocals). Vukomanović formed his own pop band Primavera.

The first appearance the band made in March 1982, in Vienna Arena in Novi Sad on the Novosadski novi talas festival (Novi Sad New Wave Festival). Beside Luna, the on the festival appeared Boye, Grad, Kontraritam and Obojeni Program, Ove sezone vedri tonovi and Imperium of Jazz. After the festival, Luna started performing at numerous Novi Sad and Belgrade venues and established a cult status.

In Radio Novi Sad studios, the band recorded their first demo with "Ogledalo lune" as the most notable track, becoming a local hit. Soon after, the band went on a Croatian and Slovenian tour. After the Kopar concert, the band met Marko Brecelj (former Buldožer member) who took their demo recordings to his former bandmate Boris Bele, one of the head of the Helidon record label.

Having returned from the tour, the band entered the "Aquarius" studio in Belgrade, where, with the help of sound engineer Đorđe Petrović and producer Saša Habić recorded their first and only album "Nestvarne stvari". The album was released in early 1984 by Helidon. The "Rock" magazine voted the album the seventh best album of 1984. The band also got the award "Sedam Sektetara SKOJ-a" in Zagreb. After the album recording, due to a conflict between Bale and Tišma, the band split up. Tišma and Mina reformed La Strada, Bale went to serve the Yugoslav People's Army and Firchie joined Ekatarina Velika and later moved to the USA. Together with Bale, former Električni Orgazam keyboard player Ljubomir Đukić and Igra Staklenih Perli bassist Draško Nikodijević Dracula formed a supergroup Collateral Damage. The band did not release any material. Mina finished the Musical Academy studies and moved to Italy. After La Strada disbanded, Tišma quit his musical career. He released two poetry books, the first "Mairizmi" in 1995 and two years later the second called "Vrt kao to".

In 1992 Bale reformed Luna, featuring only himself from the original lineup, acompanied by Robert Radić Roby (drums), Zoran Lekić Leki (bass) Predrag Jandrić Gaga from Vrisak Generacije, Boban from Ritam Nereda and several guest musicians. The recordings resulted "Leto bez sifilisa" which was later released as Bale's solo album "Summer Without Syphilis" in the USA where he moved and lives at the moment. Bale also remastered and reproduced "Nestvarne Stvari" in 1999.

The default Luna lineup performed a reunion show at the 2004 Exit festival. They performed all of the tracks from "Nestvarne stvari" and three tracks from the band's first demo which did not appear on the album.
