Sean O'Kane

Sean O'Kane (born 11th november 1964), is a scottish actor from Belshill, Glasgow.

Career

Sean O'Kane grew up in the back streets outside Glasgow, known as Cambuslang, in a family with twelve siblings. Needless to say casting was easy when putting on small plays for the relatives. He continued these plays during school, then at the tender age of 19, after a stint in the territorial army, Sean set off for a world wide adventure turning his hand to stunt work, modeling and acting in student films - constantly honing his skills as a thespian. Arriving in Hollywood in the early 80s. A young teenager with a thick moustache helped land him his first role as Precinct cop Det. McKenzie on Cagney and Lacey. When cast and crew discovered his young age and the fact that he lived in the parking lot in a truck, they took him under their wings and for three years and forty-five shows featured him in many episodes. Having a thick Glasgow accent impeded his chances of speaking on the show, which soon changed later on in his career. After laying down the Prime of Miss Jean Brody on Tape at the request of Tyne Daly, in return she encouraged the young actor to learn more accents to broaden his talents. Advice well heeded. He left the show Christmas of 1985 after being scouted by LA Models who sent him to Europe, and for the next three years he traveled the world non-stop modeling. As luck met preparation, Sean landed his first leading role in a madcap British TV show called "Interceptor" (1989). Starring and co-starring in films such as Magic Island (1995) (V), Stone Soup (1993), and TV's "Dream Team" (1997), Sharpe's Justice (1997) (TV) and Taggart as well as countless voice overs on such films as Million Dollar Baby, Patriot Games and Blown Away. His career has gone from strength to strength.

*O' Kane Aquired the rights to the Nigel Tranter novel Rob Roy with legendary producer Ralph S. Singleton but was beaten to the post by the Michael Cayton Jones project of the same name.

*His Left leg was cut off at 10 years old in a rooftop accident and was sewn back on slightly askew.

*He Credited in his early career as John Lynch.

*He Studied with Claire Forlani and Talisa Soto under renowned acting coach Janet Alihanti.

*He Starred in over 40 world-wide commercials with several winning commercial of the year awards.

*He Quit the business in 2000 and for 18 months took a job trouble shooting cell phone towers for nextell in the deep south, for which he climbed over 900 towers at heights up to 400 feet. Then he was offered the role of Gavin for the BBC comedy Terry McIntyre a role that probably saved his life, as climbing cellphone towers is considered one of the most dangerous jobs in America.

*He Chipped his front tooth in a swimming pool at 8 years old and had it fixed at 24 which was paid for by his modeling agent Bill Ardent.

*He Gained 30lbs to play aging golf pro Murray Sinclair in the BBC comedy Frans People then lost it to play Richard Flett the high powered lawyer in Taggart.

*He Auditioned for lead roles in Lord of the rings, Last Man Standing and Clear and Present Danger.

*He Shares the same birthday as Demi Moore, Leonardo Di Caprio, Calista Flockhart and Stanley Tucci.

*He Toured Scotland in Grease as Danny Zucko after leaving high school at 15.
