Ultrasonic thickness gauge
- Ultrasonic thickness gauge
Ultrasonic thickness gauge - measuring instrument for the non-destructive investigation of the materials thickness using the ultrasonic waves.
First ultrasonic thickness gauge in the world was constructed by the Polish engineer Werner Sobek from Katowice, in year 1967. The ultrasonic thickness gauge measures of the speed of propagation of the ultrsonic waves in the given material, and then counts this speed on the thickness in millimetres, applying the suitable mathematical formula.
