Brian Edward Quarles von Ufford

Brian Edward Quarles van Ufford was a diplomat from the Netherlands. He was Dutch ambassador to Luxembourg. Later he served as the leader of the Dutch delegation to the Mutual and Balanced Force Reduction (MBFR) exploratory talks in Vienna in early 1973. Henry A. Kissinger was dissatisfied with his performance there and told Luxembourg’s then-Foreign Minister, Gaston Thorn that Quarles should be removed.
