Lead Auditor

The certified Lead Auditor designation is a professional certification for audit team leaders who typically work for certification bodies or perform supplier audits for large organizations. This certification is normally provided by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) or by RABQSA International.

The requirements to be a certified Lead Auditor normally consist of tertiary education, audit experience (as an auditor and as a lead auditor in training) and at least two years of relevant working experience.

Certification Programs

It is possible to become a certified Lead Auditor in the following certification programs with either RABQSA or IRCA:

* Quality (ISO 9000)
* Aerospace (AS 9100)
* Environmental (ISO 14001)
* Information Security (ISO 27001)
* Occupational Health & Safety (OHSAS 18001)

Certification Programs - IRCA only

It is possible to become a certified Lead Auditor in the following certification programs with IRCA:

* Corporate Auditor (complies with ISO 17024)
* TickIT
* Maritime Safety Management Systems
* Information Technology Service Management (ISO 20000)
* Business Continuity (BS 25999)
* Social Systems (SA 8000)
* Sustainability Assurance Practitioner (AA 1000)

It is possible to become a certified Lead Auditor in the following certification programs with RABQSA:

* Cleaning/Disinfection
* Coles Supermarkets
* Disability Services
* Drinking Water Quality

* Food Safety - Japanese Frozen Food Corporation (JFFIC)

* Moisture Infused Pork Auditor (MI Pork)
* Responsible Care Management (American Chemistry Council)
* Security Management (ISO 28000)
