- AAC Angel
__NOTOC__
The AAC Model 44 Angel is a twin-engine STOL utility aircraft produced in the United States for missionary work in South America since the mid 1980s. It is a low-wing cantilever monoplane with retractable tricycle undercarriage and eight seats. The design is largely conventional, but for the fact that the engine nacelles, rather than being mounted on the leading edge of the wings, are mounted on top of the wings and installed in pusher configuration. Indeed, at one point during flight tests, the nacelles were raised even further above the wings and were mounted for a time on short pylons. Construction is of aluminium throughout.
Work on the prototype was commenced at the home of designer
Carl Mortenson before being moved to the municipal airport inOrange City, Iowa , whereAngel Aircraft Corporation now manufactures the aircraft. Certification was achieved in 1992.pecifications
