Highlands Intermediate School is a decile 7 Co-educational school in Welbourn, a suburb of New Plymouth, New Zealand.

The current principal is Mr Eric Shaw.

* Paritutu (Black)

Recent renovations and physical changes to the schools layout and buildings sees Highlands Intermediate offer a safe and friendly environment to its students and staff. Some of the more unique features of Highlands Intermediate include its Hockey Turf, Technology classes, a well equipped library, a top class stage lighting and stereo set in the hall, successful Music department, and a newly renovated office area.

Highlands Intermediate celebrated 50 years in 2005 which was a huge success.

Highlands has recently built a new classroom (Room 23) due to the school being so over populated.
