archaeologicalThomas Bateman in 1848 from an Anglo-Saxontumulus (or "barrow") at the Benty Grange farm inDerbyshire ,England . It is what remains of an iron helmet with a bronze boar on the crest. This helmet matches the descriptions of warriors' helmets in "Beowulf ."The remains and a reconstruction are in Sheffield's
