Yuri Naumov

Yuri Naumov ( _ru. Юрий Леонидович Наумов, born May 3, 1962, Sverdlovsk, USSR) is a poet, composer, singer and guitar player, a Russian unique bluesman. [ [http://www.peoples.ru/art/music/bluz/naumov/ Biography] ]

He was born in a family of a doctor. Naumov grew up listening to the records of The Beatles and Led Zeppelin and at age 8 decided to become a rock guitarist. In 1970 their family moved to Novosibirsk. Since 1978 he played in a school-band, met future members of Kalinov Most blues-band.

In January 1983 Naumov formed "Prokhaodnoy Dvor" band, where he played with Vladimir Zotov (drums) and Oleg Kurokhtin (guit.). Soonly their bootleg's became popular in the USSR, so forced by the KGB to leave Novosibirsk Medical University for "spreading decadent western values," Naumov sought the safety first in Leningradand then in Moscow. In 1990 Naumov moved to New York, United States.He plays on the single 9-string guitar which was custom-built for him by famous violin maker Sergei Nozdrin.
