Amir Haider (born 1936) is an
India n politician.Born in
Lucknow in 1936,Haider belong from a muslim zamidar family, although his father was a zamidar but he didn't like zamidari system and he infact ask peasants not to pay taxes to his father, he never believed in class distinction weather on basis of caste, religion or economic background. Haider received his primary education inMittai , before going to Lucknow for his higher education. joined student politics and was the first student union president ofShia College . He also held several posts inLucknow University 's student union. He joined the Communist Party in the late 1950s as state secretary, and later joined Congress fromIndira Gandhi in 1966. Since then he has held several positions, including chairman of State Minority Cell, general secretary, a member of all India congress committee (three terms), and PCC (seven terms). Haider is currently a member of the Congress Working Committee and chairman of Senior Men Cell. He is also a member of theRed Cross board of governors, and runs several educational institutions that aim to give quality education to poor children for free.he lead several movements for cause of sugarcrane farmers. he is known for his
