Geron Davis

Geron Davis is most well known as the composer of the song Holy Ground. A song which was first signed by Meadowgreen Music(who also signed Grammy Award-winning American singer and songwriter Michael W. Smith rose from it's humble beginings as a country boy from the foothills of Savannah, Tennessee in 1979, and later to become a hit in the charts, sung and recorded several times over the years, including top artists like Barbra Streisand in the album [1997] "Higher Ground" , "...a lady who's sung on Broadway. She has sung duets with every famous person in the country. She's produced, starred in, and directed movies..."

President Bill Clinton, following his election to the presidency, invited Davis and his wife, Becky, along with their choir, to sing "Holy Ground" at his inauguration. Later at the funeral of Virginia Kelly, President Bill Clinton's mother in 1994, he once again asked that "Holy Ground" be sung. The song went on to become in 1986, the Word Records' best-selling anthem. At the end of the millennium, it remained Word's No. 2 selling anthem of all time. It has since been recorded by countless artists and appeared in numerous hymnals.

From that day that Geron Davis composed the song as a 19 year old teenager in a brand new sanctuary in the little town of Savannah, Tennessee, he never knew that it would take him this far. Geron Davis has gone on to compose many other songs, and has recorded with many other artists, featuring in major Christian Worship albums and also produced several albums personally and with Kindered Souls, such as:
