Although the prison in prison terms is still fairly new, it has had two major incidents within the prison, the first incident in 1986 with serious damage to the fabric of living units and then again in 1993 when the prison was on the brink of total evacuation.
=Today=The prison works in partnership with Leyland Truck Company Ltd in training prisoners in key skills in preparation for possible employment such as interview techniques, CV preparation, and aptitude and personality questionaires.
