CETRA provides customized language solutions to governments and businesses, including: Translation, Interpretation, American Sign Language Interpretation, Localization, Multilingual Typesetting, Voice-Overs and Transcriptions in nearly 100 languages. CETRA’s headquarters is located in Elkins Park, PA, and serves clients worldwide. CETRA specializes in serving the marketing research and legal industries as well as the information technology, pharmaceutical, and human resources sectors. CETRA is also a holder of GSA Schedule and provides translation and interpretation services to the U.S. Federal Government.

CETRA was founded in 1994 by Dr. Jiri Stejskal. A professional translator and language teacher, Dr. Stejskal earned both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Slavic Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by an Executive MBA degree at Temple University. He has more than 20 years of experience as a translator and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Czech and Russian as a part-time lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania since 1990. Originally, the business primarily served the needs of other translation services providers. The company was incorporated in Pennsylvania in March of 1997 under the name of Central European Translations, Inc. In 2002, the company changed its legal name to CETRA, Inc. to reflect the new scope of services extending beyond the area of Central Europe.

CETRA’s team believes in excellent relationships and service beyond expectations for its customers and the industry as a whole. Since 2001, CETRA’s President, Dr. Jiri Stejskal, has served on the American Translators Association (ATA) Executive Committee, and is serving as ATA’s President from 2007 through 2009. Dr. Stejskal was recently elected Vice President of FIT (Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs / International Federation of Translators) and will be the organizer of the FIT World Congress in San Francisco in 2011. As a member of the US delegation to ISO, CETRA is the only language services provider actively involved in the development of an international translation quality standard.

Inc. 2008 ranked CETRA Language Solutions as No. 1,302 on its annual ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the country, and as No. 33 in the in the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD region.
