Eduardo Diazmuñoz is a Mexican conductor, composer and arranger.
He studied
piano ,cello ,percussion , andconducting at theNational Conservatory of Music (Mexico) . In1978 ,1979 he became associate conductor of the newly foundedMexico City Philarmonic . He assisted in preparation for concertos ofLeonard Bernstein andEduardo Mata . Bernstein invited him toTanglewood in1979 . In1980 -1982 he went toParis withLeón Barzin of whom he became assistant.He made his debut atPalacio de Bellas Artes inMexico City at 22. He received a testimonial award granted by the International Biographical Centre inCambridge ,England as international Musician of the year2003 .Diazmuñoz has conducted orchestras worldwide. He won in september
2000 , aLatin Grammy award for Best Classical Album for the first volume of his collection "Twentieth Century Mexican Symphonic Music", a four CD collection, making him the first mexican conductor to be nominated.He has done 28 recordings for 19 labels.
He is the first Mexican conductor to receive two Golden Discs and a Platinum Disc for the Albums el Tri Sinfónico.
