Background

Taisuke Kanou, a 16 year old tough boy, is the protagonist of the manga series "". He seems to protect his best and closest friend, Hiroise, from bullies. He lived with his older sister peacefully until something from outer space hit him.

When he was young his parents died in a car accident so, as a result, he lived with his sister ever since. One day, the sky was darkened by black clouds and then, there was mass suicide not only in Japan but in the whole world. All of a sudden, something hits Taisuke and at the same day he sees someone suicide by jumping off a building.He then asks Youko, his older sister, if he was acting weird which was not answered by her.

All of a sudden, Hiroise is suspected as a mass murderer. Taisuke firmly rejected this and went to the police station, which he was currently not allowed to enter.The school was reopened a week later, after what we call “Nightmare Week”. Hiroise was also back and free of suspicion and seemed to act strange. When school was over Hiroise kidnapped Megumi, his childhood friend, which started his journey to the north.

Taisuke meets Ryou, a pretty truck driver, after a short while of his journey. It was she who then breaks his bicycle. And she offers him a ride to someone who can fix his bicycle. They went to someone Ryou knew to fix his bike after a short while.

Taisuke then met Yuta, a “Comrade”, whose power is isolation. Taisuke and the others cannot go out because of Yuta’s power of isolation. He then used his “Power” for the first time. It was revealed in the manga chapter 7 that Taisuke’s power is Heat.
