Theo Caldwell

Theo Caldwell is President of Caldwell Asset Management, Inc. and serves on the Board of Directors of Caldwell Financial, Ltd., a diversified investment firm with operations throughout North America and around the globe. Caldwell Financial and its subsidiaries provide investment management, brokerage and insurance services to private clients, municipalities, charities and foundations, as well as private and public corporations.

Caldwell is a licensed investment advisor and financial planner in Canada and the United States, and has served as a registered equities trader, operating on major North American exchanges. Prior to joining Caldwell Financial, Caldwell was the senior financial writer for one of the largest independent broker-dealer networks in the United States, and also managed the firm’s mutual fund and alternative investment department.

He has been a Member of the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, the Kansas City Board of Trade, and the Chicago Board Options Exchange.

Caldwell's community involvement includes Board Memberships of Neshama Playground, Theatrefront, King-Bay Chaplaincy, Factory Theatre, and DARE Arts Foundation. He is also an active supporter of Dignitas International, the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario - POGO, Boxer Rescue LA, Boxer Rescue Ontario, the French Bulldog Rescue Network, Pugalug Pug Rescue, and the Dog Legislation Council of Canada. His philanthropic efforts are primarily directed toward children's causes, people with disabilities, AIDS in Africa, and canine rescue charities. He was Co-Chair (2006) of the Pink Bedroom Party for Breast Cancer Research. A dual American and Canadian citizen, Caldwell has worked with local and national political campaigns in Canada and the United States, and in 2000 he stood for Parliament in the riding of St. Paul’s in Toronto, Canada. He also holds an Irish passport.

Caldwell holds an M.Sc. in Public Policy and Management from the University of London, UK, as well as a B.A. in English from Trinity College, University of Toronto. He is the author of two award-winning plays and four screenplays. His first of five historical fantasy novels on Irish mythology, Finn the half-Great, will be published with Tundra Books (McClelland Stewart, Random House), in 2009.
