Known as Radio 910, the station has a broad range transmitting across eastern South Dakota and westernMinnesota , reaching the cities ofYankton, South Dakota ,Webster, South Dakota ,Chamberlain, South Dakota ,Marshall, Minnesota ,Olivia, Minnesota , and the communities between these points. The station was formerly in a historic train depot and went by the name "Depot Radio". In2005 , the depot was sold and KJJQ relocated to the building now housing the other four commercial radio stations in Brookings.Format
KJJQ is primarily an information-driven station with an emphasis on local area news, sports, and weather. Augmenting this format, world news from
ABC Radio runs at the top of each hour, and several hours ofESPN Radio run throughout the day. The station originates a number of local programs, including a two-hour sports talk program on South Dakota sports and "The Great Afternoon Smorgasbord" – a two-and-half hour talk show focusing on uniquely South Dakotan culture, history, music, and folklore.
