Tim Bisley

Tim Bisley is a fictional character played by Simon Pegg on the British television situation comedy Spaced. Tim's primary mode of transportation is his skateboard, and he is often seen wearing a beanie with the word, "chocolate" knitted into the weave of the cap. He is often seen with his PlayStation controller in hand, but hopes to become a serious comic book artist. In fact, the creators of the show (Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson) named in Tim Bisley in homage to real life comic artist Simon Bisley.) Tim often references the old Star Wars trilogy, and has a bitter resentment of the Phantom Menace. He can be grumpy and ill-tempered, and when Phantom Menace is mentioned he is down-right angry.

Some of his bitterness arose from the fact that his girlfriend, Sarah (played by Anna Wilson-Jones), left him for Tim's friend - Duane Benzie (played by Peter Serafinowicz). He's currently writing and illustrating a graphic novel about an orphaned boy who was experimented upon by Doktor Mandrake. Doktor Mandrake experimented on the boy as a youth with the imaginary chemical, "oxypheromalkahyde." Though Doktor Mandrake did not notice any change in the boy as a youth, he has since mutated into a giant bear that roams the Earth. Doktor Mandrake is now consumed with a search for the mutant bear in hopes that he can replicate the results.

Tim has a difficult time trying to gain the courage to sell his work because he fears rejection. His fears also include dogs, lightning, and bamboo.
