The Sidrón Cave "(Cueva de El Sidrón" in Spanish) is an ancient
cave , inPiloña municipality,Asturias , northwesternSpain , where Paleolithicrock art andNeardenthal reamains have been found.Neanderthal ancientmtDNA was partially sequenced in HVR region for three distinct neandertals from El Sidrón cave (441, 1253, and 1351c [http://anthropology.net/2007/10/18/neandertals-have-the-same-mutations-in-foxp2-the-language-gene-as-modern-humans/] [http://mbe.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/22/4/1077] ). 1253 and 1351c have the same mutations at position A-911, G-977 in exon 7 ofFOXP2 gene as present day people.
