"Soothing Music For Stray Cats" is the debut solo album by Liverpudlian musician, songwriter and vocalist Edgar 'Jones' Jones released on the 09 of May 2005 on The Viper Label [http://www.the-viper-label.co.uk/edgar_jones.htm] . It combines a number of musical styles including Jazz, Rock and roll, Doo Wop, soul music, R&B and Funk [Mojo Magazine May 2005 ] across the instrumentals and songs that comprise the album.All tracks were written by Edgar 'Jones' Jones except It's My Bass which was originally written by The Isleys.The song 'Freedom' contains an interpolation of Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller and lyrics by Charles Mingus and 'Tenderly' contains an interpolation of Blue Monk by Thelonious Monk [Album Sleevenotes] .
