- Jungjang
-
Jungjang is the South Korean equivalent of a Lieutenant General. It outranks the Sojang, equivalent to a Major General. The rank is also held by Korean Vice Admirals and uses three stars as its badge of rank, much like the United States version.
In North Korea, the same name is romanized as Chungchang. Although still translatable as "Lieutenant General", a North Korean Chungchang is only the equivalent of a two star general, since North Korea does not maintain a rank of Brigadier General. The North Korean equivalent of a three star general is Sangchang, translated as "Colonel General".
