"The Sonny Side of Cher" is the second studio album by singer Cher.

It was her second release with the Liberty Records U.K./Imperial Records USA label. It peaked at number 26 in the U.S. charts and number 11 in the UK charts. It earned Gold certifications in the US, as well as the UK that same year.

This album produced even bigger hits than her first one did: "Bang Bang". With "Bang Bang", Cher was definitely settled in the American pop culture. The album contains some incredible covers of "A Young Girl", the sensational "Ol' Man River" which shows the huge power Cher already had in her voice on this early album.

The title is a pun on the name of Cher's then-husband, producer, collaborator and regular songwriter Sonny Bono.
