Andrei Sakharov Prize For Writer's Civic Courage

The Andrei Sakharov Prize For Writer's Civic Courage is an annual literary prize established in the Soviet Union by the writers' association "Writers in Support of Perestroika" in October 1990 [http://www.chukfamily.ru/Lidia/Biblio/Rasskazova.htm "For Writer's Civic Courage"] , "Literaturnaya Gazeta", October 31, 1990] and continued in the modern Russian federation.

The first recipient was Lydia Chukovskaya.
