Edward Carteret

Edward Carteret

Edward Carteret (1671-1739) was a politician and served as Postmaster General from 1721 until his death.

He was the third son of Philip Carteret FRS and younger brother of George Carteret, 1st Baron Carteret. He served as Member of Parliament for several constituencies between 1698 and 1720 when he was made a Postmaster General.
