Since his mid-teens Laumanis played with the youth squad of
Olimpija Liepāja and in 1927 he first played for the senior team in a year when Olimpija won its firstLatvian Higher League title, pushing out of the squad the club veteranHarijs Pikols [ [http://www.kurzemes-vards.lv/print.php?doc=45299 Harijs Pikols biography] ] . Over many years Laumanis was the most reliable defender in the Olimpija squad alongsideKārlis Tīls . In the early 1930s he played for two seasons withASK Liepāja which he helped to earn promotion to Virsliga but in 1934 he returned to Olimpija and played with the side until it was disbanded in 1940. Playing with Olimpija Laumanis won seven Latvian league titles and became a three time winner of theRiga Football Cup .Laumanis played 18 international matches for Latvia between 1930 and 1939.
In 1941 he played with
Dinamo Liepāja . AfterWorld War II Laumanis ended up inGermany which he left in 1949 forUSA .In America Laumanis continued playing football with amateur clubs winning the
