Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir

Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir (born November 26, 1957, in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan). [ [http://www.banjarmasinpost.co.id/content/view/4931/473/ banjarmasinpost.co.id ] ] is an Indonesian diplomat. Fachir currently serves as the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, replacing Bachtiar Aly. He was nominated for the position by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and sworn in on September 5, 2007. Prior to that, Ambassador Fachir served as Translator of President Megawati Soekarnoputri. Fachir graduated from Jakarta Islamic State University in 1983. He married Yasmin Sukmawira and has three children: Ifa, Ila and Ais. In addition to Indonesian, Fachir speaks English and Arabic.
