Filfel Gourgy

Filfel Gourgy

Filfel Gourgy (born in Baghdad, Iraq) was a well renowned Iraqi Jewish singer. As a youngster, he was taught by Hassan Habka, a Muslim Iraqi singer and in 1950, he immigrated to Israel.

Gourgy wrote and composed most of his songs, in both Hebrew and Arabic.
