footnotes = Babati is a small city and district of the Manyara Region of Tanzania. The adminisrative capital of the district 'Babati Town' is located ] , 172km south of Arusha. The District is is the capital of Manyara Region. The district is bordered to the North by the Arusha Region, to the Southeast by the Simanjiro District, to the South by the Dodoma Region, to the Southwest by the Hanang District, and to the Northwest by the Mbulu District.

In 2003, King Edward VI Five Ways School in Birmingham, UK set up the Babati Link Group to promote educational links with Babati. The link group has worked closely with Babati Day Secondary School in Babati Town.

Babati is also home to Kahembe's Trekking and Cultural Safari's. Cultural tourism enables those interested to visit the rural areas, interact with the local people in their villages and homes, eating and drinking the various foods and drinks, joining local ceremonies/dances/rituals, so as to learn something about the country and thus enjoy the full experience of visiting and learning about Tanzania.
