Bubbles is an application platform, based on Browser-technologies (sometimes referred to as a Site Specific Browser). It detaches web applications from the classic Web browser and offers them with the familiar accessibility, capabilities and always-on nature of desktop applications.

[http://www.bubbleshq.com BubblesHQ] is Bubbles home on the web, it offers [http://bubbleshq.com/scripts Extensions] for a variety of existing web-applications (in the same spirit of GreaseMonkey) and hosts [http://bubbleshq.com/forums/ Forums] for active extension developers and users.

Bubbles is being developed by "Bubble Labs", founded by Ohad Eder-Pressman, Shahaf Shakuf and Vadim Giliyadov.

Philosophy

* Separation - We believe that every user has a set of web-applications that are core to their daily activities. Bubbles enables users to use these web-applications in a unique environment, detached from classic Tabbed-Browser environment we've grown used to. With Bubbles, each one of your web-applications looks and feels like a Desktop application.

* Accessibility - We've made web-applications more accessible, with their own presence on the task-bar, task-manager and system-tray, your web-applications are always one click away and take no time to load.

* Desktop Integration - Web-Applications have been limited to what classic browsers offered them. With Bubbles, web-applications can accept drag-and-drop files, popup notifications on the desktop even when they are minimized, control their own system tray icon and menu, and much more.

Bubbles promotes the evolution and merging of the browser and the desktop as an application platform. We believe that Browsers are embodying a growing portion of our daily computer-related activities, yet aren't evolving fast enough to answer the needs that accompanies this growth.

We continuously research and prototype new features and ideas that can enable the browsers of the future to offer a better user experience.
