Joshua Brent Geer (born June 2, 1983 in city-state|Dallas|Texas) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the San Diego Padres.

Professional career

Geer was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2003, but he did not sign. He was drafted again in the third round in 2005 by the Padres. He signed with them, and has played in their farm system since then. In by|2007, Geer was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Year while pitching for the San Antonio Missions [ [http://sandiego.padres.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20080124&content_id=2354822&vkey=pr_sd&fext=.jsp&c_id=sd Padres Press Release, January 24, 2008] ]

Geer made his major league debut for the Padres on August 30, by|2008 with a win over the Colorado Rockies.
