Journal of Accounting Research

Journal of Accounting Research is an academic journal associated with the University of Chicago. It was established in 1963. It is published by Blackwell Publishing "on behalf of the Institute of Professional Accounting, University of Chicago".

It is regarded as one of the top three or four journals in the field of accounting research in virtually all studies of journals' importance, whether based upon citations or upon opinion surveys.fact|date=September 2008

Its current editors are Ray Ball, Philip G. Berger, Merle Erickson, Richard Leftwich, Douglas J. Skinner, and Abbie Smith, all at the University of Chicago.
