Preble High School is a public high school in the Green Bay School District. The school pulls students from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Bellevue, Wisconsin, and New Franken. The name comes from the former settlement of Preble in northeastern Green Bay, Wisconsin, as well as New Franken, Wisconsin.

Fifth School Referendum

In 2006, there was much discussion about a referendum to create a new school in northeastern Brown County, Wisconsin that would help to relieve Preble High School of its overpopulation. The building was designed for roughly 1700 students, and currently holds more than 2200. The referendum was defeated by a 2-to-1 margin on November 6, 2006.Fact|date=June 2008

In 2007, the possibility was raised of creating a school in the former Port Plaza Mall region, which would relieve overcrowding in all schools.Fact|date=June 2008

Sports and Extra Curricular Activities

Students at Preble High School routinely score above the state and national averages.Fact|date=June 2008 Curricular activities focus in the arts and technology, with programs in forensics and DNA testing, computer-assisted design, and mathematical analysis. Preble's athletics program is run by director Jack Drankoff. Under his guidance, Boys Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Boys and Girls Track and Field, and Boys and Girl's Golf have all advanced to the WIAA State tournaments and/or meets. The Girl's golf team has gone to state for three consecutive years (2005, 2006, and 2007). In 2005, senior Steve Marcelle set the state record in shot put with an unofficial throw of 67 feet, 4 inches. He later set the official state record of 67' 6". With such a large freshmen class this year with around 560 new students the number of students attending Preble High School is around 2,300. The Preble Track and Field program has taken the runner-up position at the WIAA State Meet in both 2005 and 2006.Fact|date=June 2008

Preble football suffered a rough season in 2006 achieving only one win. "The junior class started every position except for 4", the only skill position held by a senior being quarterback - Aaron Radloff. Preble's fine arts department is popular, with very strong band, orchestra, and choir programs. Preble's annual musical is in November and annual play is in May. They have two show choirs, Center Stage, a mixed choir; and Rendezvous, a womens' choir. They hold a variety show, entitled Cabaret, every spring. They also have prominent jazz band and vocal jazz/madrigal groups.Fact|date=June 2008

In the school year 2004-05, Preble celebrated its 50th year. The FBLA organization developed a video unlike any in its history. The entire school year was documented on video in a project called "Preble All Access :: 2004-05 Video Diary". The choir and band performed the school song under the direction of late band director Huntsberger.Fact|date=June 2008

Preble High also has a well known Track and Field team having won many conference, regional, sectional, and state titles. The boys track and field team has not lost a conference title in many, many, many years.
