Los Angeles Stars of the American Basketball Association became the Los Angeles Aftershock before the start of the2005 season. The Aftershock had an 11-15 regular season record and made it to the playoffs, but lost in the second round to theSan Jose Skyrockets .The Aftershock are not defunct as presumed, rather, they are taking a year off before beginning play in the CBA for 2007.
