- Anders Abraham Grafström
Anders Abraham Grafström (
January 10 1790 ;Sundsvall –July 24 1870 ;Umeå ) was a Swedish historian, priest and poet. In 1819, Grafström was the library secretary ofUppsala University . The following year he was named as a lecturer in history at the university, later teaching at theMilitary Academy Karlberg . In 1835 he was appointed as apastor in Umeå, where he lived until his death. He was admitted into theSwedish Academy in 1839, occupying Seat 6.Grafström belonged to the literary circle centred around
Malla Silfverstolpe . He wrote a famousbiography of his father-in-lawFrans Michael Franzén . Some of Grafström's poetry was set to music by the composerJohan Erik Nordblom . His daughter marriedArtur Hazelius , the teacher and folklorist. In his later years, Grafström was a vocal exponent of the expansion of the railway network intoNorrland .Bibliography
