Steven Ellis (baseball)

Steven Michael Ellis (born February 4, 1979, in Utica, N.Y.) [ [http://www.thecompletepitcher.com/about.htm About Steven Ellis] ] is a former right-handed pitcher in the Chicago Cubs organization. Ellis was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 12th round (360th overall) of the 2000 MLB Draft (June-Reg) but did not sign. [ [http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/team/draft.jsp?c_id=oak&year=2000 Draft Results, Year 2000] ] He was drafted again in 2001 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs in the 18th round (528th overall) and signed. In the minor leagues, Ellis compiled 120 strikeouts in 88 innings of work as a closing pitcher.
