Tenure review

Tenure review

Tenure review is a process of reviewing the use of some high country land in the South Island of New Zealand. It currently involves 20% of the South Island or 10% of the total land area of New Zealand.

Historically much of the high country area has been grazed by sheep and cattle. Ann Brower, an academic at Lincoln University, argues that the process is in favour of the lessees rather than the government. [cite web
