Raimundo Tupper Lyon (1 January 1969 – 20 July 1995) was a Chilean professional football player, best known for his years with Universidad Católica. He was a left back.

Career

Born into a family of five children (four males and one female). He studied at the Colegio San Ignacio El Bosque, and joined the lower divisions of Universidad Católica in 1980, being his first coach of the former soccer player Alberto Fouillioux The Crusaders.

He made his debut in the first team from the Catholic in 1985 compared with Cobresal in the city of El Salvador. In 1987 he was nominated to the Selection Youth of Chile, which won fourth place in the World category conducted in Chile, which did double with his great friend Lukas Tudor in the attack of the Cross. That same year he went champion Tournament Official with the team that always defended.

In 1989 he joined the study in the Diego Portales University Engineering in execution, which did not finish. That year wins the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores (Chile) before Cobreloa, by definition pro-Catholic 4-1.

Between 1989 and 1995 "Mumo" was proprietor of the UC, even the final of the Copa Libertadores americas in 1993. Previously won the Cup Chile 1991 and during that time was winner of the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores (Chile) in 1991, 1992 and 1994, the latter scoring a great goal to Colo-Colo.

Raimundo Tupper Lyon died at 26 years of age because of an endogenous depression that drove him to kill himself in the Colon Hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica on July 20, 1995.

Currently, a white cross installed in the high mountains of San Carlos de Apoquindo reminded the "dear mum", as he recalls the Crusaders fans. Subsequently, the brother of the deceased player, Andrew Tupper, took over as president of the branch football club.
