Cassandra Cooper / Ingalls - fictional character of the "Little House on the Prairie" tv-series. She appeared in season 8 episodes (1981-1982), but had her opening appearance in the two-part final episode of the season 7. The actress who played this character was Missy Francis.

Born probably in early 1870s, younger child of Alvin and Sarah Cooper. Sister of James Cooper. Charles and Albert traveled with the Cooper family while on a delivery run. When they encountered a steep hill, Charles and Alvin agreed to take the hill one at a time, with the children staying with the Ingalls wagon. However, something went wrong and Alvin lost control of the wagon; the wagon crashed at the bottom of the hill, and both parents were killed. The children witnessed the accident. James and Cassandra had uncle Jed, living in a homeless camp, unable to take custody of them. Charles brought them to the orphanage but Albert persuaded him to take the children to Walnut Grove and look for the family for them there. At first they lived with the Ingalls. Traumatized Cassandra had problems with accepting the parents' death and grew great atachment with Caroline Ingalls.

Meanwhile, Rev. Alden was helping Charles in his family for the Cooper kids searching and they found to the Tompkins. The father of the family turned out to be mean and merely interested in extra farmhands. Eventually, Cassandra and James ran away. Mr. Tompkins declined to help Charles in the search, so when he found them (called by Cassandra, because James hurt his leg), together with Caroline, they decided to keep the sibillings.

Some time later, soon before Charles and Caroline formally adopted Cassandra and her brother, uncle Jed showed up wanting custody. But after court battle and Cassandra's pleading, he gave the idea up.

Cassandra left Walnut Grove with the Ingalls somewhere between season 8 and 9.
