Peugeot UO-8

The Peugeot UO-8 was a ten-speed bicycle manufactured by Cycles Peugeot during the "bike boom" of the 1970s. Components

Though the components changed somewhat throughout the years of production, much remained the same.

Identification

The UO-8 is often mistaken for the higher-end PX-10. There are multiple ways to tell them apart, but the easiest is the gold "Tube Special" sticker that appears on (most) UO-8s.

Also, the year of a UO-8 can usually be determined by the serial number. The first digit of the serial number indicates the year of manufacture, and the number of digits in the serial number indicates the decade. This method will hold true 9/10 times, but there are sometimes exceptions.
