Lala Sloatman

Lala Cassandra Sloatman is an American model-actress (and, more recently, costumer). Her uncle was late impresario Frank Zappa; her cousins are Ahmet, Diva, Moon and Dweezil Zappa. Lala is frequently billed by her first name only, and sometimes as "Lala Zappa."

Personal History

Lala was born in Winterpark, Florida, on October 12, 1970. Lala's first name is the Hawaiian form of Laura. Her father is John Sloatman III, whose sister Gail is Frank Zappa's widow. Lala ultimately moved to Santa Barbara, and after that to Los Angeles. She has one younger brother, John Sloatman IV (born November 18, 1982).

During the mid-to-late 1980s, Lala became a celebrity due to her much-publicized relationship with Corey Haim. They co-starred in the movies "Dream a Little Dream" and "Watchers." After briefly dating actor Balthazar Getty, Lala married Black Crowes founder Chris Robinson. The marriage lasted only two years.

Lala's additional movie work includes "Bunny Bunny Bunny" (a short film which co-starred her cousin Moon and Kyle Richards), "Pump Up the Volume," "Tequila Sunrise" (cameo as a prostitute), "Joe Versus the Volcano" (cameo as a Chinese restaurant-waitress), "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" (cameo as a sorority girl at a party), "" (as Lauren Holly's best friend), "," "Buy One, Get One Free," "Cityscrapes," "Manfast," "Netgames," and "Pauly Shore Is Dead" (as another prostitute), among others.
