Alta Mira was originally the private home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson in 1880, but in 1895 their home was transformed into a hotel. In 1926 the hotel burned down in a devastating fire, but it was later rebuilt as a Spanish-style villa. William Wachter purchased the hotel in 1954 and enlarged several of the main rooms which in turn made it a favorite location for weddings and receptions. In 2003 Michael Blatt bought the property and renovated it into a 23-room bed and breakfast. Then finally in 2007 Michael Blatt and his son transformed the facility into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. [http://www.marinij.com/marin/ci_7144772] Authors
