Glover Morrill Allen (
8 February 1879 –14 February 1942 ) was a U.S. zoologist.He was born at
Walpole, New Hampshire , the son of Reverend Nathaniel Glover Allen and Harriet Ann (Schouler) Allen, and studied atHarvard University ,Massachusetts . After graduating, he lectured in zoology at Harvard and held the position of Curator of Mammals in the Museum of Comparative Zoology.He travelled widely, to Central and
South America , toWest Africa , theNile , theBelgian Congo , andAustralia .His publications include "Bats: Biology, Behavior and Folklore"; "Checklist of African Mammals"; and "Mammals of China and Mongolia".
